Dr. C. Rhett Jackson of the University of Georgia will present on the need to increase coastal resiliency in barrier island and coastal communities of the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts. He will discuss how a mix of natural infrastructure projects, traditional infrastructure retrofits, and policy refinements, including managed retreat will address sea-level rise issues. The presentation will touch upon how beneficial use of dredge materials may help reduce overall costs of sea-level rise adaptation.
